Orphan Sam's universe. Lawrence, Kansas.

She stood there, invisable in the broad light of day, and watched Sam, her turquoise eyes intent and a little sad. Behind her on the ground lay the remains of the thing that had tried sneaking up on him unawares, but she had no interest in her kill. Things like that weren't food. You only killed them to keep the world from stinking and to protect your own.

Sam was just standing there. His thoughts were closed, so she couldn't talk to him, but she was content to just watch over him for now.

Sam shakes his head a bit before stopping the Impala out front of an old house. Shutting the car off he didn't even bother waking John. Keep an eye on him Zanoah.

Zanoah looks at him thoughtfully. -I'm not fully bound to this world. If I wind up attached to one of you I'll have to leave mySam, and he's the one I feel the pull to watch over.-

He nods again, eyes darkening. "When Sam was six. It was my fault."

-Ah,- she says softly, then withdraws from between the seats and gets her paw up the right way to open the back door so she can run laps around the Impala till Sam gets back.
