She stood there, invisable in the broad light of day, and watched Sam, her turquoise eyes intent and a little sad. Behind her on the ground lay the remains of the thing that had tried sneaking up on him unawares, but she had no interest in her kill. Things like that weren't food. You only killed them to keep the world from stinking and to protect your own.

Sam was just standing there. His thoughts were closed, so she couldn't talk to him, but she was content to just watch over him for now.

"Seems they have the same perspective." Sam states before seeing the waitress return and moves back so she can set the plates down in front of them.

John looks at his plate- a platter, really, and suddenly feels no desire for the food. He thanks the waitress anyway, then bows his head briefly after she walks away and reaches for the ketchup at the same time as Sam does.

Sam pulls his hand back and chuckles a bit. "Not too many like ketchup with that kind of meal."

"I think it's a Winchester thing." The sadness in his eyes is replaced by a smile as he applies the condiment and then hands the bottle over.

"That's a good possibility. Although Dean says its nasty to use on some foods." He gives a smirk before using it and setting the bottle in the middle of the table.
