She stood there, invisable in the broad light of day, and watched Sam, her turquoise eyes intent and a little sad. Behind her on the ground lay the remains of the thing that had tried sneaking up on him unawares, but she had no interest in her kill. Things like that weren't food. You only killed them to keep the world from stinking and to protect your own.

Sam was just standing there. His thoughts were closed, so she couldn't talk to him, but she was content to just watch over him for now.

"There's alot of her in both you and Dean." He cuts steak and eats. "Your sister startles me sometimes."

"All of us Winchester kids startle people. It's like its in our nature or something."

John chuckles. "Did you ever slide down that bannister headfirst like your sister did? And send Dean flying?"

"And one day he got tired of getting knocked down when he tried to catch you, and said he'd let you fall. But at the last moment he ran to catch you and wound up swallowing his loose tooth when your head hit his mouth."

"The loose tooth thing didn't happen. But he did nearly split his head open because he hit the floor pretty hard but broke my fall at the same time."
