She stood there, invisable in the broad light of day, and watched Sam, her turquoise eyes intent and a little sad. Behind her on the ground lay the remains of the thing that had tried sneaking up on him unawares, but she had no interest in her kill. Things like that weren't food. You only killed them to keep the world from stinking and to protect your own.

Sam was just standing there. His thoughts were closed, so she couldn't talk to him, but she was content to just watch over him for now.

Sam gives the woman a smile and heads down into the basement where she told him most of the Winchester stuff was. The basement... what fun.

He flips on the light switch, wincing as one of the lightbulbs in the fixture explodes, then follows Sam down the stairs, emotions and mind still under concrete control.

He does his best to ignore the exploding fixture and finds one of the boxes before opening it and frowning slightly. Right...
