There's a newcomer to the Nexus today -- a woman in her very early thirties, with bright red hair and a forest-green sweater, sitting on one of the provided couches and looking at travel brochures. She wandered in earlier, and after the obligatory "?!?/can I get back" moment, has decided that she might as well do as the sign asks and ask a question. She spreads out her brochures on a table in front of her and looks up.

"So, random strangers! I'm a wanderer, and I've wandered almost all of the United States. So I think it's time I broke into international travel. Since it's my first time in this regard, I figured I'd at least start out by going to one of the more well-known cities, and see where adventure leads me from there."

She holds up three brochures.

"The question of the day is, then: London, Paris, or Rome?"

"Well, I like to meet new people too," Lucy nods. "And I've been meeting plenty of them here. Guess that's only to be expected if this is a multiversal meeting point like everybody tells me, though."

Lucy tilts her head, looking thoughtful. "The last guys mentioned it -- that's the place that's got the LOL encyclopedia and such, right? Also a rock band, I think?" Yes, Optimus already gave her all the pamphlets and the encyclopedia, but gathering as much info as she can is probably the best thing to do in these circumstances. Besides, she's curious to see the place after the boys talked about it.

"It is a multiv... one of those." Silver nods, then grins a little bit. "Optimus and Uncle Sam don't play till tomorrow."

Lucy giggles -- too cute -- then arches an eyebrow. "Oh, I seeee. . . And uncle Sam, huh?" Are you part-bot too, little girl?

Silver snerks and shakes her head, eyes dancing. "No, I'm a Guardian Fae Dragon. That's the name of the band."

Ooooh. Well. That explains a few things. "That'll make two I've met today -- which is more than I ever expected to meet," Lucy says.

"That Optimus is a Changeling," says Silver, shaking her head with childish vigour. "I'm not."

A small point, but little girls are often sticklers for such things.

"Yeah, he said, more or less," Lucy allows with a nod. "So you were born as one, huh? All natural, you could say."

Childlike, by way of answer Silver reaches into her pocket and takes out a little bit of broken something that shimmers exquisitely silver.

Yes. It's a bit of eggshell.

Lucy has to admit, she wasn't expecting that. She looks at the broken bit of shell. "Wow," she murmurs. "It's pretty." Maybe not the most intelligent thing she could say, but. . .

Silver thoughtfully studies the shard like she'd earlier studied Lucy.

"Yes, but I was really tired of looking at it before I finally got to come out."

Love's mouth twitches at the corners, and her blind eyes smile as she pat pats her small friend with sympathy.

Lucy can't help a tiny laugh. "Yeah, I guess the view would get pretty dull if you were stuck in there," she allows. "But hey -- you're out and about in the wide world now."

Silver grins as she puts away her bit of shell. "Yeah, but I just learned to look like this a little while ago. Before that all I could do was lift my head up and cheep."

"Well, human babies can't do much more than wave their limbs randomly and cry, so. . ." Lucy shrugs.

"I was already this smart, so I didn't like being so floppy." Silver looks at Lucy's tray. "Do you know what poutine is?"

"Ahh -- yeah, I can imagine that would get really annoying really fast," Lucy allows. She glances at what remains of her impromptu lunch. "French fries with brown gravy and cheese curds. Had it once in a greasy spoon near the Canadian border. Didn't really click with me." She thinks she likes ketchup best.

"You can put ketchup on too," says Silver, and then looks up, her eyes wide and her little face red with blush as she realizes what she just did.

Love senses the tension in Silver's hand and lifts her head, frowning uncertainly as she tries to figure out what just happened.

Lucy's struck silent for a moment, but only a moment. Okay. Telepathic. Perhaps she should have expected that. "I -- don't think it goes well with the gravy stuff," she says, deciding the best thing is just to go along with it. "I can't imagine it on cheese either."

"I thought I heard it with my ears." Silver is all quietly apologetic little girl dignity as she absently hugs the now understanding and relaxed Love's hand. "Sometimes when people think loud I can't tell unless I'm looking at them."

Maybe a bit much explaining for someone who seems to have accepted it. But Silver has met a lot of epic fits about 'get out of my head!' in her life.

Lucy's a little more chill about it -- again, she's thinking she should have expected it. After all, the previous Fae/Changeling she met could make food appear out of thin air. "It's okay," sh assures her. "You didn't freak me out much. Not something you can really control yet?"

"It's our natural way of talking." Silver fidgets and glances toward the purring and beeping. "I've seen grownup halfbreeds and Changelings do it too."

"Oh, I see," Lucy says. "Er -- sorry for thinking so loud, then," she adds, trying jokes to put the girl a little more at ease. She too glances toward the noises. Hmmmm. . .

Silver peeks at her with a little grin, but Lucy may or may not notice that seeing as there's a FULL GROWN DISPLACER BEAST laying over there a few feet away from where two little ducklings are industriously grooming something invisible.

Yes, the very large cat with six legs and two huge tentacles is rather distracting. Lucy's just going to stand and gape for a while. The ducklings and their invisible grooming station barely even attract her notice. "Is -- is that yours?" she finally gets out.

Silver's little invisible brows shoot up as she feels and sees Lucy's reaction, then she looks toward the displacer beast, looking at the ducklings and not at where the cat seems to be. "Kitty is Mistral's, like me."

"Kitty?" Lucy's tone implies that she doesn't care if it's mostly cat-like -- something that looks like that should not be called 'Kitty.' "Who is Mistral?" And how did she become the owner of that?
