Sign Nexus. Sign Area. I Roam Around Around Around
There's a newcomer to the Nexus today -- a woman in her very early thirties, with bright red hair and a forest-green sweater, sitting on one of the provided couches and looking at travel brochures. She wandered in earlier, and after the obligatory "?!?/can I get back" moment, has decided that she might as well do as the sign asks and ask a question. She spreads out her brochures on a table in front of her and looks up.
"So, random strangers! I'm a wanderer, and I've wandered almost all of the United States. So I think it's time I broke into international travel. Since it's my first time in this regard, I figured I'd at least start out by going to one of the more well-known cities, and see where adventure leads me from there."
She holds up three brochures.
"The question of the day is, then: London, Paris, or Rome?"

The person is female, with a lighter alto voice. She also sounds very tired.

"Well," she says, pushing her bobbed hair out of her eyes. "If you want to stay on a mainland, and you want a big city, I'd recommend somewhere in India, or China. All kinds of things to see and eat."
risking a short tag!

Satisfied that the sound isn't really interesting, she turns back to the woman on the smaller couch. "Of course my favourite place to explore is Edmonton's River Valley park. It may not be exciting, and the city isn't very big as cities go, but they're beautiful and quiet, and they've got some interesting history."
net's finally back on
"Canada, huh?" she nods, leaning on the back of her couch. "I'm up for interesting history. Though I'm always most interested in if there's any theater scene." She grins. "Actress."

Then she realizes what she just said and facepalms. "I mean my best friend's nephew." Soft grumbling follows.
two days without ;_;
She'll be holding back her laughter for your sake, McCrennin. Although it's a bit hard. She nods. "Right."
*sympathy wince*
She shrugs. "Anyway, they'd started me thinking on the subject of having someone at home, so I put an ad in the paper for a room for a quiet older man." A slight grin. "This retired English butler answered the call, and he's been my best friend ever since." The smile fades back to the scowl.
yeaaah -- at least things are back now

be back tomorrow. *issa pooped*
Then he looks back to Lucy. "Major Sam Walker. Looks like I'm next in line to answer your question, but I can fill you in on the Nexus too, if you want."
He looks about sixty, with an air around him that makes him easy to trust. There's a reason the soldiers and airmen on the base he shares the command of are glad to serve under him.
all righty -- about time for me to hit the sack too
She gives him a little smile. "Lucy Leech, though you might have already heard that. And some more info about where I've ended up would be really appreciated, thank you. I get the feeling I jumped in the deep end without a proper look."

Purring is now audible, coming from a slightly different direction from the child's voice. It's accompanied by the contentedly excited beeps of young mallard ducklings.

"The streets aren't so narrow there," she says at last.

Then she tips her head up and scrutinizes Lucy closely, seeming to look inside her. "What's your name? I'm Silver, and this is Love."
Love doesn't seem to be following the conversation, and doesn't show any response to her name being spoken.

The staring makes Lucy a bit uneasy, but she does her best to hide it. "Lucy Leech," she says, tentatively holding out a hand to Silver. She glances at Love, not sure what to say to her -- if anything.

"She says hi," says Silver, smiling. "She says that she likes narrow streets because they're easier to remember."
no subject
She nods gratefully to Silver for the translation. "I see. Hello Love," she says, hoping Silver will translate back. "Sorry, I don't know much sign. . ."
