Sign Nexus. Sign Area. I Roam Around Around Around
There's a newcomer to the Nexus today -- a woman in her very early thirties, with bright red hair and a forest-green sweater, sitting on one of the provided couches and looking at travel brochures. She wandered in earlier, and after the obligatory "?!?/can I get back" moment, has decided that she might as well do as the sign asks and ask a question. She spreads out her brochures on a table in front of her and looks up.
"So, random strangers! I'm a wanderer, and I've wandered almost all of the United States. So I think it's time I broke into international travel. Since it's my first time in this regard, I figured I'd at least start out by going to one of the more well-known cities, and see where adventure leads me from there."
She holds up three brochures.
"The question of the day is, then: London, Paris, or Rome?"

Then she tips her head up and scrutinizes Lucy closely, seeming to look inside her. "What's your name? I'm Silver, and this is Love."
Love doesn't seem to be following the conversation, and doesn't show any response to her name being spoken.

The staring makes Lucy a bit uneasy, but she does her best to hide it. "Lucy Leech," she says, tentatively holding out a hand to Silver. She glances at Love, not sure what to say to her -- if anything.

"She says hi," says Silver, smiling. "She says that she likes narrow streets because they're easier to remember."
no subject
She nods gratefully to Silver for the translation. "I see. Hello Love," she says, hoping Silver will translate back. "Sorry, I don't know much sign. . ."

Love, meanwhile, having shaken hands and made sure of where the person she's talking to is, then smiled at Lucy, will now take her hand back and fold it together with its mate as she turns her face toward Silver.

She smiles back at Love on instinct -- though, really, if Silver's telling her what she's saying with her mind, she can tell her Lucy gave her a smile too. "You two just come by because of the question, or did you see any of the other stop by and get interested?"

Love, apparently staring at the floor now, though really listening to what Silver is relaying of the conversation, lifts a fist and nods it at this point, agreeing with what the little girl has said.
"We're on our way to the Black Dog," Silver continues. "Do you want to come?"

Lucy tilts her head, looking thoughtful. "The last guys mentioned it -- that's the place that's got the LOL encyclopedia and such, right? Also a rock band, I think?" Yes, Optimus already gave her all the pamphlets and the encyclopedia, but gathering as much info as she can is probably the best thing to do in these circumstances. Besides, she's curious to see the place after the boys talked about it.

A small point, but little girls are often sticklers for such things.

Yes. It's a bit of eggshell.

"Yes, but I was really tired of looking at it before I finally got to come out."
Love's mouth twitches at the corners, and her blind eyes smile as she pat pats her small friend with sympathy.

Love senses the tension in Silver's hand and lifts her head, frowning uncertainly as she tries to figure out what just happened.

Maybe a bit much explaining for someone who seems to have accepted it. But Silver has met a lot of epic fits about 'get out of my head!' in her life.

Sorry for the delay. Life booted me in the head.
It's okay!
