Gargoyles' reality. Manhattan General Hospital. Intensive care ward.

Goliath sighed as he walked through the door and found himself and his alternate in the hospital cafeteria. "I meant to get something to eat, but I'd forgotten."

A young nurse came up behind them and gently poked gargoyle Goliath in the wing. "Excuse me, please. I need coffee NOW."

"Aye," said Hudson with a sigh. "So yer Elisa's a gargoyle now."

"Yes," Goliath replied. "The results of the machinations of Demona and Puck. Circumstances prevented the restoration of Elisa's original form."

He frowned, slightly. "Those early days were hard on her, but she survived them and, in time, we allowed ourselves to reveal and celebrate our feelings for each other."

"Good," said Hudson succinctly, leaning back against the wall as he thought of the times that he'd wanted to knock his Goliath and Elisa's heads together.

Hudson blinked. "Yer about six years behind of us."

Lucy started at a soft beep and stood up with a sigh. "I'll be back as quick as I can."

"No hurry, lass," said Hudson gently. "Do yer work."

She shook her head at him, then bent and kissed him on the cheek before flashing Goliath a grin and vanishing.

"Quite the difference," Goliath said. Not quite as bad as the eleven years that seemed to separate their world from many out there, but a large difference all the same.

"And you have accomplished so much in that time."
