Other Gargoyles-verse: Hospital: Checking Up
The ability to travel freely and unmolested in the modern world was a new enough concept to be novel to Goliath. For Elisa, it was nearly heartbreaking. She'd lost this world. She held no reservations about the fact that she'd become a Gargoyle. Though she had lost much, her relationship with Goliath, the Clan, and the lives she'd help save more than made up for it.
All the same, being able to simply walk through a human hospital and get only the occasional odd glance (some of which was no doubt due to their resemblance to the very human Goliath and Elisa Maza of this world), was a miracle indeed.
"Hope ah, Lex is okay..." Elisa said.

Elisa just shook her head. "We've got the egg now. And we're going to raise it right. Might not be what we expected, but I'd say it all worked out."

Then he looked up and nodded. "You're right. And strangely, it is the things that we don't expect that change our lives in ways that we would never willingly give up."
"Yights." Chelsea pointed toward the ceiling.

Goliath scowled and held Chelsea protectively, then offered her to his twin with intent of going over and investigating the unknown thing. "Hudson, Emily, stay back."
Emily just scowled and put herself between the shimmer and the bed.

Nothing happened.
"Hmm." He settled back, eyes narrowing in thought.

"Alright, here's Lex's blankets." Lucy walked in with a large cotton laundry bag, only to drop it in surprise as the shimmer suddenly moved with lightening speed and vanished into it. "What???"

"Lucy, lass, step ye away," said Hudson, his brow furrowed with concern as he prayed.
Goliath just watched, his gun held loosely but at the ready.
