KOTORverse: Bored and Anxious

"Yes, sir," Tiji said, carefully hiding the yawn, and listening to the Republic Admiral's final orders, his smaller, blue and flickering face oblivious to her boredome as he finished outlining her mission.

The young Jedi nodded and saluted him, then breathed a sigh of relief as he finally finished and left.

"I'm impressed. You managed to look much more attentive this time," her father smiled, approaching. She smiled.

"Come on dad, it's just a message delivery," she rolled her eyes.

"I still wish you'd take somebody with you. Zaalbar or Mission or-"

"The only one who's free is Atton," she said sweetly. Atton, who was currently shuffly Pazaak cards, looked up helpfully.

"Well he'd be useless," Carth sighed. "Alright. you ready to go?"

"Yes, dad," she smiled.

"I don't know," said Alora softly. "But I was asking the Shining One about this, and He gave me that word, and a picture of a blue lightsaber."

"It was in the Nexus." Fron looked toward her as his arms went around Tiji. "Sitting on a table."

-Maybe.... maybe you touched something. Changed yourself,- she blinked, then opened her mouth to repeat the words aloud.

"So... that is Frank?" Carth asked slowly.

"He was." Her voice was gentle. "Now he's who he says he is."

Fron just frowned in confusion and hid his face in Tiji's hair.

-Hear that? Something changed you... so all you've got to do is tell us who you are and we can go back to the way it was,- Tiji's hands closed around his robes as she sighed softly in relief.

"Then who is he?" Carth looked over, scowling suspiciously.

Alora walked over and put a hand on his arm, her heart going out to him at how young and forlorn he looked.

"Who are you?" she asked him gently.

"Fron Kane," came his muffled reply. "Your padawan."

Alora nodded. "Fron, can you let Tiji see into your mind?"

He lifted his head enough to give her an uncertain look from one eye, but then sighed at what he saw in her face. "Alright."

-It's ok, Fron,- Tiji smoothed his hair, opening her mind to him and extending the offer to him to do the same.

He sighed and dropped his shields completely, showing her his memories of growing up with her on the Hawk, all the little misadventures and foibles and run ins with Carth and Laka and all the other things that made for growing up. There was no sign of the memories that she'd seen the last time she'd looked, when she helped him put his mind back together after his father's death.

She blinked, sharing the memories with her mother, then nodded and kissed his forehead. -Hey. Kay. This'll work,- she smiled up at him reasuringly. -Wanna go on the mission still? Let mom calm dad down? You know how he gets.-
