"Yes, sir," Tiji said, carefully hiding the yawn, and listening to the Republic Admiral's final orders, his smaller, blue and flickering face oblivious to her boredome as he finished outlining her mission.

The young Jedi nodded and saluted him, then breathed a sigh of relief as he finally finished and left.

"I'm impressed. You managed to look much more attentive this time," her father smiled, approaching. She smiled.

"Come on dad, it's just a message delivery," she rolled her eyes.

"I still wish you'd take somebody with you. Zaalbar or Mission or-"

"The only one who's free is Atton," she said sweetly. Atton, who was currently shuffly Pazaak cards, looked up helpfully.

"Well he'd be useless," Carth sighed. "Alright. you ready to go?"

"Yes, dad," she smiled.

He sighed and poked out his lower lip, but wriggled to be put down so that he could do as she said.

She put him down and followed him to the bedrooms, watching him carefully so he couldn't escape.

Frank followed, absently glancing toward the bunk that he remembered as his own and feeling a little glad to see that it looked unused. Then he grinned as Jud put a little fat hand to the lock on the trunk and it popped open under the force of an indignant Atton. "Hey, Jack. Boxed again?"

"Very funny," Atton snapped. "Come here, you little monster. You're lucky I don't just fly the Hawk over some lake and punt you out the hatch for a bath."

"Atton, be nice," Tiji chided. Atton looked indignant.

Frank shook his head, sobering. "He's two years old. It's not his fault you fall for his ploys. Saying things like that to little kids can cause them a lot of fear problems."

Then he looked at his little brother. "And you. That's not how a Jedi acts. A Jedi acts with honor."

"Well I'm not a Jedi!" the boy squealed and bolted. Atton sighed and looked at him.

"Fine, kid, you can be the nanny for a few months and we'll see where you end up," he said grumpily, hurying after the boy and trying to stretch out. Tiji laughed and kissed Frank on the cheek.

"He's just like I remember him, except that he doesn't respect me because he doesn't know me." He sighed and hugged her, then glanced toward Jolee's bunk to see if the old man was there.

"He was, fast asleep, but Tiji snuggled against him first.

"He will. Soon everything'll be evened out. Everything'll be right," she smiled.

Frank sighed and held her close. "I hope so. This is weird."

She settled against him easily, fitting just right in his arms. "I know. But we'll get through it. And we really have eachother now."

"Yeah." He pondered that unknown brother for a moment, then blinked as a youthful voice grumbled at what they were doing. "Put a sock in it, Tob."

"Huh?" The twelve year old blinked.

"It's Fron. The long lost big brother. Go back to sleep," Tiji smiled and snuggled him.

"I just got in from helping Carth," said Tob indignantly, "And if he's our brother then what are you doing?"

"He's my boyfriend, too," she smiled. "He's adopted into the family, and it'll all be completely and a hundred percent legal and true when me n' him marry someday."
