Kurt slowly rocked his daughter. Eyes closed he sang a soft German lullaby to her, tears splashing down his cheeks again as he waited by his wife's bedside. She wasn't awake yet.

He rocked his child, his beautiful baby girl. She was a treasure in his arms, and every time he looked at her he became more resolved. He was going to get her away from this planet, as soon as possible. Once Joy woke up he'd take them back to the castle, to their world, and he'd keep them there. Safe.

He sighed. If only she'd wake up....

She leaned her head against his shoulder, the ear that she wasn't laying on twitching between frown and thought. "I... dunno."

"It's up to you," he bowed his head, gazing at his tiny daughter.

"I need tae apologize tae 'Roro." Her dark eyes suddenly filled with shame.

"If you vish. She harbors no ill feelings tovards you," he murmured, stroking her hair.

"I did tae her vhat I objected tae Mara doin' tae me."

"Mara..." he blinked, then remembered the stnning blue haired woman. He frowned. He hadn't thought of her since before he'd married his wife. "Ach. She knows it vas only anger. Rarely are meangful words said in hot blood," he said gently.

"That doesnae excuse 'em. I'll nae drag the Starsinger's Name through the muck by bein' a wretched example." She sighed, feeling content with his nearness.

"Vell, she vill be more zen happy to listen," he said softly. He'd made a point to clear things up with her and the other X Men, even managing to be on more-or-less speaking terms with Logan. He didn't want his family feeling unwelcome here.
