World Outside Time: Jubilee a few days later

Jubee sat on a balcony, her diary open on her lap as she smiled into the sunlight shone down on her.

She smiled into it, then looked down and started to write all about hunting with Sir Logan in the jungles. She was getting better at using the special boots that helped her move over the void. She'd even almost not gotten stuck a few times before she had to yell for Anmut's help, but with practise she'd learn to only need the winged woman's help a few times, like Sir James.

She continued to write for a while, smiling to herself. Her time here, in the World Outside Time, seemed like a beautiful, comfortable dream, and her life before... well... that seemed like somebody else's life, like a scarey, depressing book that she'd left on the shelf and almost forgotten.

This seemed a good enough place to stay, and live, and never think about problems again... this was so perfect.

She sighed and smiled, leaning back against the wall and closing her eyes, enjoying the sun.

Firecracker tried to help with getting the clothes-on on... getting the clothes on? She found that it was a lot easier than she remembered. As a matter of fact she could even do it herself. This made her grin broadly, showing off her teeth.

"All I can eat? What does that mean?" She looked up, still grinning.

"It means you get all the food you want until your tummy," she patted the girl's, grinning. "Is full and you don't want any more."

"Wow." Firecracker's eyes went nearly round. "Like when I was little, before Redeyes took me away." She finished fastening the string on the waist of her loose pants, then bounded toward the door. "Let's go! Let's go!"

Jubee frowned at the mention of being taken away by someone called Redeyes, but then grinned and followed.

"Ok, ok. I'm only slow because I'm wearing a corset of bandages."

She nearly ran into Firecracker, who had stopped to stare and sniff as she looked around the hall. This continued all the way to the kitchen, a trip that wound up taking nearly an hour despite the castle's attempts to help and the fearcesome rumbles that were coming from the girl's belly.

Jubee grinned, and patiently lead her forward.

"This place is pretty big, I haven't even explored all of it yet," she said.

"I smell Wolvie!" Firecracker froze and stared into the kitchen, where the apron and the rest of the kitchen crew had set food all over the table. "Wow."

"Yeah, he stalks the place," Jubee grinned, then opened up her arms to the table. "Eat what you want, chika."

Firecracker needed no second urging and was soon sitting on the stool eating like there was no tommorrow.

"How's she doin, lass?" Sir James put an arm around Jubilee's shoulders as he came up beside her.

"She's doing real good," Jubee was all smiles as she hugged him and snuggled, then leaned up and whispered. "She thinks I'm her mom, though. Not that I mind... but is that ok?"
