Gargoyles 'Verse: Castle Wyvern: We are Family

The notion of slipping from one universe to the next when they felt like it was an alluring one, and the members of the Manhattan Clan of the universe where Elisa Maza had become a Gargoyle and where Brooklyn had danced the corridors of time and returned with a new family intended to enjoy it when possible.  So when an invitation had been extended, some of them had jumped at the chance.  With the mess going on with Angela right now, it was good to get the kids out of the house.

"Now," Brooklyn said as he, Katana, Nashville, and Tachi appeared in the courtyard, "you kids are gonna be on your best behavior, right?"

"Uh-huh," Tachi said.

"Yes, Dad," Nash added, rolling his eyes.

"And if the other me is there, what did I say to do?"

"Not listen to a word he says," Tachi giggled.

"Right."

The older gargoyle turned to Kat for her opinion.

"The second once does sound a bit more child-friendly," Katana said. "And while our children have seen much... I should still like to preserve what innocence I can."

Hudson nodded, then walked over and took a baby carrier from the patio table. It was the work of moments for him to strap it on, though he was using only one hand and Jane had started another wriggle fit at the sight of it. "Aye, lassie, lemme git it on. We're goin' oot. There we are."

He tucked his little daughter into the seat of the carrier and zipped it, then gently tucked her wings against her back and zipped the outer covering around her. This done, he accepted a little knitted hat from Lucy and carefully installed it. All of this was accompanied by soft conversation as he spoke and Jane cooed or crowed or smiled in response.

"You ready, kids?" Brooklyn asked his children.

"Ready, Dad!" Tachi bubbled. She held out her hand, and he took it.

"You bet," Nash added.
