Gargoyles 'Verse: Castle Wyvern: We are Family

The notion of slipping from one universe to the next when they felt like it was an alluring one, and the members of the Manhattan Clan of the universe where Elisa Maza had become a Gargoyle and where Brooklyn had danced the corridors of time and returned with a new family intended to enjoy it when possible.  So when an invitation had been extended, some of them had jumped at the chance.  With the mess going on with Angela right now, it was good to get the kids out of the house.

"Now," Brooklyn said as he, Katana, Nashville, and Tachi appeared in the courtyard, "you kids are gonna be on your best behavior, right?"

"Uh-huh," Tachi said.

"Yes, Dad," Nash added, rolling his eyes.

"And if the other me is there, what did I say to do?"

"Not listen to a word he says," Tachi giggled.

"Right."

"Thanks." She slumped in her seat, then perked as Hudson absently put an arm around her shoulders.

Brooklyn, naturally, is demonstrating classic male Gargoyle denseness.

Katana, however, regarded Lucy curiously for a moment, then nodded slightly to herself.

If their Elisa could see Hudson now she'd probably bug him about having been such a spazz when he looked so happy now. And he did look happy, with one arm around his wife and the other hand on his daughter's back.

"Here we go," whispered Lucy as the opening credits rolled.

Hudson had joined Jane in slumber by the time the end credits rolled, but Lucy was as bright eyed as ever as she curled in her seat like she once had in her wheelchair before she'd changed.

"That was actually good," she said, sounding surprised.

She made a soft 'hmmph', then turned and looked at her husband for a moment before adjusting the skirt of the loose sundress that she wore and getting onto her knees to kiss him.

"Blrlhmmm. Och, Lucy, nae here." Hudson's face darkened.

Brooklyn laughed, and, after rising kissed Katana on the forehead. "What's the matter, Hudson? You afraid of a little PDA?"
