A darn good place to hunt and fish

Logan looks around as they appear on the bank of a wide, tree-shadowed river, his senses reaching out to find any trace of danger that may be lurking nearby. Feeling content that there was none, he looked at the two kids clinging to him and listening to the silence all around them and chuckled. "Y'kin let go now."

"No, she's not. She's doin' just fine." Alec states, dilated eyes looking back towards Logan and the big fire.

Logan pops a claw and starts filleting the fish. "Wanna bring me some green sticks? About so long 'n so big around."

That makes Alec blink. "Thought sticks were brown."

Logan looks up, feeling a little surprised. "I ment some that ain't dried out. Fresh offa the tree."

"Fresh sticks aren't green." He states but he shrugs and gets up disappearing into the woods.

Uzulee goes with him, looking around fearfully at the shadows under the tall trees. He can smell her slight fear and her huge uncertainty.

"It's okay, Uzulee. Nothing will get you." And its not that scared boy talking. Not the scared boy that Logan knows so well and before Uzulee can even blink an eye he's up in one of the trees.
