In a new place.... again.

Kurt woke slowly, his head hurting and telling him about his restless night. He turned slightly in his book, and turned, looking up and seeing a large canopy above him. He blinked and looked up, to his surprise seeing a few globes of light hovering above him.

He sat up, finding himself fully clothed, and turned, pushing the curtains aside slightly, only to see Joy, curled up, asleep on the windowsill that only belonged in castles.

He slowly got up and eased off the bed, then went over, picking her up, careful of her wings, doing his best not to wake her as he lifted her and brought her over to the bed, putting her down on it and making her comfortable before he looked around, wondering where they were now.

He blinked and watched it as well, then looked around and poked through the bushes a little with his tail, utterly taken aback by this world.

She led him through the winding and sometimes cramped and close tunnels through the heart of the jungle, seeing more exotic and wonderous animals and plants, til they finally emerged from a hole on the other side of the jungle and hung upside down over the pale saphire of the void.

Joy watched two flying flowers hover in front of her face, then turned to look at Kurt.

He smiled at her, carefully catching on of the flowers and placing it in her hand, before h eblushed and looked down.

She blushed too, letting the little sentient plant sit in her hair and cling with its tiny green roots. "Danke, lieb."

"Von so beautiful should alvays haff many flowers around zem," he said, nodding and smiling.

She looked at the bright flowers and leaves of the jungle that surrounded her, then out toward the top of a floating tree that hung nearby in the voide, its limbs as liberally festooned as was the jungle.

"But life is not alvays flowers, Leibe."
