Leeroy was sleeping soundly for what might be the first time since arriving on the island.

It was entirely possible that the prospect of six weeks' worth of no work as Sal re-assumed captain's role upon the Lukey (which meant that the trawler was undergoing a fresh round of repairs and a complete refitting, most of which would be done by Sal herself) was relieving much of the stress that he had been feeling lately.

Or maybe it was due to what happened the afternoon immediately following Jeimu's launch - when what he had come to know (although perhaps not as intimately as some of his friend) as the very presence of God had touched his brothers, instilling in them a sense of forgiveness.

All things told, he had lately felt a lot less responsible for everyone's well being. Or, rather, almost everyone.

He still wasn't entirely sure where things stood between he and Sam - she had her line of work and he was constantly worried about her - but, nonetheless, the two of them were spending an awful lot of their free time together.

She'd said she was leaving Port aux Basques early in the morning; and so it was his intent to wake up to see her off.

But for now, he slept.
