The siege has worn the people down. Spirits in the city are low and grey despite the food that was recently brought by that pair of unlikely looking saviors. What could you really expect from some sort of giant metal creature, and a little elf thing with a face pierced by curving bits of jewelery that make civilized people shudder to look at them?

Still, the little one has shown remarkable skill in bullying the city guard into shape, and now she and her metal friend have them standing on the wall, her black hair blowing in the wind as she stamps on the metal one's shoulder and claps. Soon the entire city has stopped and is staring in wonder. The beat swells as the guardsmen join in, fearless and proud, throwing a challenge to the beings who've held them locked within these walls for so many years.

And then Mornbein starts to sing, her voice a carrying roar that soon finds echo from the throats of the massive guardsmen all around her.

Letter from Mornbein:

Dear War,
This big job's come up. I left Sirius with Narmo, and he's on the bottle now, so he'll be alright. Narmo's number's by the phone.
I'm not sure when I'll be back. I love you, fragbrain.

*Warren's phone rings*

*answering machine kicks on*

Jubal: Uhhh, darnit. Um, this is Jubal Lee. I worked with Mornbein. Uh, something's happened. Please get back to me. *click*

Mornbein: *grabs Warren by the head and hugs him hard while he's trying to watch TV*

Shelley: Warren: OFF OFF TELLY TELLY!

Mornbein: *laughing as she kisses him on the head and then gives him a noogie*

Warren: Ah telly! Telly!

Mornbein: *stuffs a pizza pocket in his mouth and goes to look for her sharpie collection that he's hidden*

Sirius: *Yawns and goes on watching TV*

Warren: *Picks Sirius up to nuzzle him while watching telly*

Sirius: *kisses him on the cheek, then opens mouth hopefully for bite of pizza pocket filling*

Warren: *feeds some to him*

Sirius: *smacking happily as he looks toward the TV again*

Mornbein: *writing on the wall*

Mornbein shut Lobo off, then hopped off the flying Harley and jogged into the house, dropping all the things she'd bought on the table in passing as she went to the master bedroom to check on her guys. What she saw inside made her grin.

Warren lay smack in the middle of the big king-sized bed, flat on his back, but with his mouth closed for once. One arm was around Sirius, who slept peacefully on his father's T-shirted chest.

Chuckling, she turned back and started ripping open packages and throwing stuff in piles on plates, feeling very proud of herself for fixing breakfast.

Early afternoon sunshine peeked through the curtains and rested on the edge of the big king-sized bed. Mornbein had been watching it move slowly along over the hours till it had found her sleeping husband's toes where he lay sprawled peacefully with a sweet, innocent expression on his face. He'd learned by now not to snore while he slept unless he wanted to eat something wriggling and unpleasant, but his mouth was still just slightly open.

-Fraggin' adorable,- she thought, rubbing her belly, which was also sleeping at the moment after playing most of the night.

Then she slipped off the bed and out of the room to return with an ice cube, which she stuck in Warren's shirt.

She'd run across the coach out on the playing feild and stopped to exchange brag stories with him, in the process grossing him out so badly with her story of how she'd pierced her own laberet that he'd had to go home sick.

She was still sniggering as she crept into Warren's classroom and sat in the empty desk next to his to gaze fixedly at the back of his head and see if she couldn't make his back crawl.

Will, a few seats up and to the side, glanced at her absently, then noticed the roundness of her belly and stared in horrified amazement.

Mornbein ignored him.

Mornbein steered Lobo between the tall buildings, dodging billboards and the occasional pigeon, starling, seagull, or flying cop car. Warren's arms were around her waist and the sun was shining, and the combination made her heart sing.

"I goin' too fast 'er too high, hotstuff?" she yelled over the wind, remembering his yelp when the bike had first taken off. Yay for flying bikes.

Stronghold probably had no idea how close he came to being fried and served sunny side up.
He probably wouldn't know either.
Sighing Warren pushed open his homes door, bag on his back full of books arms full of pizza boxes full of hot pizza "Hey I'M HOME!" he called.

Warren was feeling grumpy. It was funny how not seeing Mornbein had that effect on him.
Also knowing what she was like he was really worried about her.
With a groan he opened his house's front door.
After a quick check no one was in and there really wasn't anything in the cupboard or fridge, he considered going to the cafe.
He needed something to relax him after being yelled at by the boss at work for not mentally being there......... school and.......... come on it wasn't his fault why hadn't she come home last night?
He sighed as he walked upstairs to his room and pushed open the door.

Thomas Rybec was cold from the trip between realities. He hadn't expected it to be in a time he was so unfamilar with either. He just found himself wandering the streets of Gotham with his heavy coat wrapped around his lean frame tightly.

He hoped he would find Clark soon. He was honestly hoping he could get some training. At the same time, he didn't want to be a mooch. Tom figured he'd work it all out. Just as soon as he could navigate his way through this city.

Warrens eyes were closed unsure as to whether or not his attempted at setting the alarms off would work. There was silence, and longer, and more. Ok it wasn't happening. "I apparently don't have the skills" he told her.
