Schalk turned his head and looked toward the window, his deep eyes reflecting the light of the rising sun.
The winged man twitched his ears gently. -Ach, (Starsinger, thank You for the peace of the morning; for this life You've given me, and for the family that's starting here. Shine through me today, my Master, use me for Your purposes und make me a blessing.)-
A sigh made his ears twitch his ears again as he glanced down at the woman who lay with her head on his chest, the bulge of their unborn son pressed against his side. -(My Remie... great One....) His heart swelled as the thought came out a soft rumble of a whisper. "Danke."
Remie stirred at the rumble, her smile sleepy but true, and she looked up happily. "Mon amour....."
He lifted his head a little more, eyes creasing as he stroked her hair. "Good morning, Liebling. How vas your sleep?"
She stretched slightly, taking in a deep breath and finding it easy to de-kink without disturbing her place in his arms. "De lil' homme kept dancin' in an' out o' my dreams. Laughin', too."
The wing that covered her in lieu of a blanket lifted slightly as fingers powerful enough to crush steel touched her belly gently. "I felt him dancing; I think that he did it for most of the night."
"Oui. You tellin' me, mister," she grinned, leaning up and kissing him on the lips gently.
"Mmm," he murmured, ears twitching once more as his hand went up to her cheek. "Ik hou fan dei."
She grinned. "You too. Now lemme go pee."
He moved his wing out of the way and sat up to stand her on the floor. "Hurry, beste."
"Don’ tell me what to do," she giggled and hurried out.
Schalk watched her go, then got to his feet and walked over to look in the middle drawer of his dresser at his shirts, absently flipping the elastic on his boxers as he did.
"So, sweets," said Remie, returning with a toothbrush in her mouth. "What we doin’ t’day?"
He looked over his shoulder with a bit of alarm. "I vas going to church, as usual... is today something different?"
"Non. Don’ t’ink." She smiled, snuggling against him. "I come wit you t’day?"
"Ja. I'd like that." He put his forehead to hers for a moment, but then sighed. "Do you know vhere I've left all my shirts?"
