Nexus. The random corner where they've met before. Hoping to meet a friend.

Amy's in the quiet little corner of Nexus park where's she's met Sludge twice before. In her hands is a bag which holds several thick sheets of hard gingerbread, which might serve as cookies to someone of the Dinobot's stature. She'd really hoped to meet him again, but now there's snow coming down and it's getting too thick to see through. Her systems are protesting the temperature, and she knows that she should just go home. But she can't shake the feeling that if she does she might miss the mech who's become her best friend.

Sludge sees he and trundles over as fast as he can without breaking the ground. "Amy-girl!" Automatically his hand cups around her in a hug.

"Sludge!" She sighs with relief, then snuggles against his fingers, seeking warmth. "How are you?"

He smiles and scoops her up and close to his chest. "Me good. Why you, Amy, out in cold."

"I was hoping you'd come." She rubs her eyes, trying to chase away a slight grogginess. "I've got something for you."

"No." She shakes her head. "You didn't hurt me. I'm... just mixed up right now. But you and Cureall helped me see things the right way, and I'll be okay."

Sludge smiles and carefully turns his head to liiiightly kiss Amy. "Me glad."

She smiles through her tears, thinking that she wants to invite him home to visit, but it's snowing there too. "You know you're a sweetheart?"

"You don't know?" She looks puzzled.

"Me not know. Him not say." He shrugs softly.

"You can't tell by how he acts?"

//Because the people who have the restaurant want to sell food,// she explains.

"Are you sure?" she says aloud. "We could split."

Sludge carefully shakes his head. "No. Me, Sludge am gentlemech! Me pay!"

The blue femme laughs and pats him on the arm, then points to the menu over the bar. "Lemme know when you're ready."

"Poutine..." says Amy, looking and going :o

Amy pats his finger gently. "Do you want to put me down?"

Sludge blushes again. "Oh!" And very carfully he sets he down on the bartop.

Once set down she finds herself loath to leave the shelter of his big hand, and kneels next to it with her own hand on it as she looks around. Being in a room with so many Ancients soon has her eyes widening with wonder.

She bows her own head and talks to God like He's another person sitting there with them, telling Him thanks for the food, and for Sludge. She finishes with an 'amen', then catches the optic of a smallish mech further down the bar and blushes at his curious and faintly mocking look.

Sludge notices and when she is done he returns his hand to it's protective position.

"Amen."

Her own hand goes to rest on it as she takes the fork and tries a couple fries with gravy and cheese. "Oh, it's good."

"Not any time," she says with surprise. "You might be busy."

"No! Me, Sludge, always have time for Amy-Girl!" Sludge says this firmly.

Her brows draw together uncertainly. She's remembering what he said about drills and she's not sure.

She strokes his cheek and then kisses it before looking down. "We should finish our energon."

There's still poutine left too, but for once her mind isn't on food. It's only her mother's strict lessons on energon conservation that has her saying what she has.

Sludge nods and gives her another kiss before setting her back down with his hand still around her. Then he goes back to drinking hisown energon.

And they sit and drink and eat and talk for hours, feeling content just to be spending time with one another.
