Alora ducked the swing of a wicked looking halberd, then swept off the droid arm that held it before swirling and deflecting a blaster bolt.

-Well, this has got to be one of more honest receptions we've gotten,- she mused, watching as another bolt went through the edge of her swirling robe. -They didn't even pretend to be glad to see us. Master! Protect her! ...Thank You.-

She clenched her teeth as Tiji turned just in time to meet the droid that had intended to attack her from behind, then whirled with a slight creak of armor to meet her own next opponent.

Tiji finished with her half of the troops, then sighed and stepped back, deactivating her lightsaber.

"Well... at least there aren't any destroyer droids out here," she sighed. "You ok, mom?"

"Yes." She cocked her head, eyes unfocused as she listened for warnings. "How about you, and do you see your father and the others anywhere?"

Alora gasped as warning caused her soul to cringe, already moving to cut a hole in the wall and pull her daughter through. Then she threw herself over Tiji as the droid exploded deafeningly.

"Ugh," Tiji coughed, then flinched as her side protested angirly. She stopped moving and closed her eyes once more, begining to heal herself.

Alora put a hand to her mouth. -Master?-

"They're booby trapped," she said with quiet certainty, turning to count the tanks and then walking over to look through the fogged glass of one that lay on the floor. "...This is a child."

"Well? What do we do?" Tiji said, stepping forward.

-Atton, if you trigger anything right now I will kill you.-

The Togorian blinked and growled dangerously, but then caught the man's scent and recognized it as one that was on both of the human women. Golden eyes full of guilt, he retreated to where his children were piled in a sleepy, purring heap near the generator room door.

"I wanted to help," his wife said to Carth, "But I couldn't find the catches." She held out the med kit.

That Light swirled around Alora, touching Jolee and feeling of calm assurance.

"That's alright, her armor's supposed to do that," Carth said gently, watching Atton with a horrific scowl on his face.

Atton, meanwhile, obliviously worked on the young woman while Jolee smiled.

"There you are," he said. "Relax, Carth, she'll be fine."

"Call him." She stooped and grabbed her robe, then turned and jogged toward the last room where she'd seen tanks, covering her blood-stained bodysuit with it as she went.

Carth sighed and did as told, then followed her. "What's going on now, sweetheart?"

Alora looked around, frowning with concern. "There are probably more droids coming...."

She rose in a smooth motion that belied the dark stains on her rob, then walked over to the wall and narrowed her eyes as she listened to things only she could see and hear.

One end of her lightsaber snapped to life with a buzz and a whir, then cut cleanly through the duracrete. "This way."

"The children," the young twi-lek protested. "They can't walk yet, and neither can she," he pointed to the pregnant woman. "Where are your other soldiers? We need help."

"There's one or two more coming. But don't give up yet," Carth said, patting his shoulder. Anybody who can take somebody, do it."

They found a scene of quiet trying and confusion at their destination. Children whimpered, and a boy of about twelve wept over an open tank.

"What's wrong?" Alora hurried to his side.

"My little brother," he said brokenly. "I was supposed to take care of him. I was supposed to make sure he was safe."

"Here, let me help you get him out," Carth approached the child.

Alora smiled at Carth gratefully, then steeled herself against the pain from her side and turned toward the outer wall, where she waited as he dealt with the old man. The older brother stood next to her, watchful and protective.

"That's no Jedi!" The old one spat, eyes flashing. "Make the ghoulish @#$%&$#@ leave the child to rest in peace! No one can raise the dead!"

There was a gasp from Alora's arms, and the little boy put his hand up to rub his eyes, looking quizzically toward his big brother as the twelve year old yelled with joy.

Carth seized his shirt.

"If the boy was meant to be dead he would be. Alora's an angel, and a true Jedi. You'll either shut your mouth or sleep now and wake in the next port town's medicle center," he growled.

"Little busy, love." Alora grunted as the war machine broke through the wall and came into the room.

Carth's eyes widened and he rolled to the side, switching the disruptors on his blasters and firing at the usual weak points in the droid.

"I am." She suddenly whirled and ran back a few paces. "GO!"

Tiji turned, dropping the boy lightly to the floor.

"I got them," she said, turning towards the droids with her saber activating.

The grenade detonated as they ducked instinctively.

Then Alora groaned. "Carth...."

"Dad!" Tiji gasped, zipping away and retuning in the blink of an eye supporting her father, who's sheild had been destroyed but was, himself, almost completely unharmed.

"Sweetheart," he said, grinning slightly and reaching a hand towards her.

"I think he banged his brain," Tiji winced. "He's all worried, but he keeps grinning."

"Is she going to be alright?" he asked, watching Alora's still face.

"Yeah. Just exauhsted," she smiled thinly. "Atton, get us out of here."

"Yes'm," Atton's cheesy voice shone through the intercom.

Alora groaned again as her weary muscles twitched and brought pain from her untreated ribs. But safe in her husband's arms, her slumber was deep and inescapable.

"I've got you," he murmured gently, then looked at Tiji.

"I'm ok, dad," she said before settling down to ease her mother's aches.

Alora nodded. "Could you check? Please?"

"Of course," he smiled, getting up and checking, before nodding. "Yup. Both passed out cold. Kids must be exauhsted after everything that's happened today," he said, going back and settling beside her. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"
